by Joe Meyer

It’s that time of year! The eCup Group Stage is winding down and it’s time to start looking ahead to the Knockout Stage. Prior to the final matchday of each group, we’ll break down Playoff Scenarios for all twenty-one groups.

Today, we’re breaking down Group B of the PlayStation Second Division. You can view the breakdowns for other groups here.

Remaining Matches:

  • Wednesday, January 26th @ 9:00 p.m. ET | Bateaux FC vs. Slaughterhouse - 19

Inter Detroit FC (MWPL) - After winning all four of their group stage matches, Inter Detroit FC has clinched the group title. Inter Detroit has a bye on the final matchday of Group B.

Slaughterhouse - 19 (USLC - SG) - Slaughterhouse - 19 currently sits in second place in Group B and has clinched a spot in the Knockout Stage. The Indy Eleven Supporter’s Group will square off against Bateaux FC on Wednesday night and will secure a second-place finish with a win or draw. A loss will push Slaughterhouse - 19 down to third place in the group.

Jacksonville Armada FC (NPSL) - Jacksonville Armada FC currently sits in third place in Group B and has not clinched a spot in the Knockout Stage. Sitting on four points after all four of their group stage matches, Jacksonville needs a Slaughterhouse - 19 win or draw against Bateaux FC to qualify for the Knockout Stage. A Bateaux win will send the Armada into the “Challenge Cup” Play-In Tournament. Jacksonville has a bye on the final matchday of Group B.

Bateaux FC (WPASL) - Sitting in fourth place through three matches, it’s win-and-you’re in for Bateaux FC on Wednesday night against Slaughterhouse-19. With a win, Bateaux will finish second and qualify for the Knockout Stage. The Eau Claire, WI-based club will finish outside of the Knockout Stage and into the Challenge Cup as the fourth-place team with a draw, and finish as the fifth-place team with a loss.

The Citizens SG (NPSL - SG) - The Citizens SG, supporters of Minneapolis City SC, have been mathematically eliminated from the Knockout Stage. They will participate in the play-in “Challenge Cup” regardless of Wednesday night’s result but could finish fourth rather than fifth in the group if Bateaux FC loses to Slaughterhouse - 19. A Bateaux win or draw will see The Citizens finish fifth in the group.
