The Lower League eCup is an annual nationwide FIFA (video game) tournament for lower league soccer clubs, supporters, and players.
Not-for-profit and independent from existing leagues, the Lower League eCup was founded by average soccer supporters with no gaming background as a way for supporters and clubs to stay engaged and make lasting connections during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the eCup is transitioning to become an annual offseason event that connects American soccer like no other.
After 120 clubs and supporters groups took part in 2020, we're planning to come back bigger and better in 2021. With plans to introduce a new second division, and several additional opportunities to get involved, we're looking forward to continued growth.
We're not your typical eSports event. The eCup isn't a professional gaming tournament. The eCup is built exclusively for the casual fan.
You may be skeptical about the prospect of a video game tournament, and we can't blame you because just a few months ago, we would have been too. But with multiple divisions, announcers who talk about peacocks and the effect of hand circumference on finger flexibility, to action-packed, competitive FIFA matches, the Lower League eCup has something for everybody.
We'll create the platform, and it's your choice what you do with it.
The 2021 tournament will kick-off in mid-January and runs through February. Registration will open on November 1st.
