The Lower League eCup is an "all-inclusive" event. Whether you're a competitive FIFA player, die-hard Esports fan, or you've never picked up a controller in your life, the eCup has something for everyone.
How can I get involved?
Registration for the 2023 eCup will open on October 15th. There are two ways to register.
- Clubs and supporters groups can enter directly and submit representatives/players at a later date.
- Supporters can initiate the registration process to represent a club in the eCup and get express written consent from a club to represent them in the eCup
Contact eCup President Joe Meyer via email (president@lowerleagueEcup.com) with any registration questions!
When will the tournament take place?
The 2022 tournament will begin with the group stage in mid-January and will conclude with the knockout stage in February. Registration will open on October 15th.
What is the tournament format?
Players and clubs are divided into groups of four, playing three group stage matches. The top two players per group advance to the playoffs, while the remaining competitors enter a "play-in" tournament to qualify for the playoffs.
Are there multiple skill levels?
Yes! Both the PlayStation and Xbox Divisions have second divisions. It is intended primarily for fans and clubs who want to get in the action, but don't have much FIFA experience. The division is also for clubs and supporters groups that want to make multiple entries, as only one entry per organization is allowed in the first division.
We want to provide a platform that allows clubs and supporters of lower league soccer from across the country to connect, form new relationships, and learn about different clubs!
What console(s) are available?
There are three separate divisions on Playstation, Xbox, and PC. Each club and supporters group can enter on each console but doesn't have to enter all three competitions.
How many clubs have been represented?
Since 2020, over 160 clubs and supporters groups have been represented in the tournament. We have had over 260 players participate across the three divisions in the first two editions of the event.
Will the matches be streamed?
Yes, every match is streamed on the gaming platform Twitch. Clubs are responsible for streaming their matches and the eCup will produce select streams on our national channel (twitch.tv/lowerleagueEcup).
